thePeople:

thePeople:
do i see or here anything else
DM:
You see a glowing cavern, which seems
to lead into a greater field, all of it covered in a strange moss
thePeople:
Anything you need to say or should i
start saying what im going to do
DM:
no monologe this time
thePeople:

with bow drawn in case more enemies appear
thePeople:

thePeople:

only you could do
DM:

both like in an RTS
Hunter:
Brother please, wake up(shake him a
bit, then continue walking worried about how to wake him
Earth Looker:
Argh...
DM:
you gain one temp HP from radiant
energy
thePeople:
thats not good, i might have to start
cuttingmyself
DM:
You remember a trip you took as a boy
to the sacred garden, the place where God grew the food for the
Writhor to harvest. It too caused one to be filled with energy,
and many a tale persists about people dieing from staying too long.
thePeople:
i forgot, did earthlooker take any
damage
thePeople:
do i heal every action
DM:
no, but about every three rounds you do
thePeople:
i start hurrying
thePeople:
do i see anything new
DM:
the moss is growing, spreading seeds,
and bursting rapidly, as if it's life cycle runs it's course in
only minutes. The pollen makes it hard to see very far, but this
field seems to continue in all directions. You notice that there
is no roof out here.
DM:
also, no more turn order
DM:
and you gain one more temp
thePeople:
what do you mean turn order, i'm the
only one to taking turns right, or do you mean something else
DM:
as in no more need to be carefull
about actions. If you want to move your guy 130ft, feel free
thePeople:
do i see anything, exactly how bad
does it cloud my vision
DM:
visibility is about 60ft
DM:
and you gain another temp
thePeople:
i gently slash both me and my brother
for very like 5 damage, can i choose that, or just lower it or
something
DM:
sure. You are willing and he is
helpless
* thePeople rolls: d20+6 => 5 + 6 = 11
DM:
make another spot check
* thePeople rolls: d20+6 => 15 + 6 = 21
DM:
this time, you see a mass of worms
crawling in a spefic location 5 ft from you
thePeople:
are you keeping track of earthlookers
stuff, and thats pretty close, I poke at the worms to see what
they are attracted too
DM:
yes, and they begin to form into
humanoid blobs, about 3ft tall
thePeople:
are they tiny creature?
Blob:
How the light is shattered...
thePeople:
ok, good they dont get aoo on me if i
move away then
Blob:
broken...
Hunter:
What, what are you creatures
Blob:
We are speakers
Blob:
Voices
Blob:
Whisper
Blob:
Echo
Hunter:
what voics do you speak of? And how
can something like you come to be
Whisper:
There is much you are blind to,
child...
Echo:
Captivated...
Hunter:
If I am blind to something, then tell
me, tell me what I should be seeing according to you!
Whisper:
Visions cannot be spoken, they must be
seen.
Echo:
Personal...
Hunter:
Then show me,if you can, show me. Tell
me where to go to see what you speak of, and if you cannot, then
how cn I possibly believe your words
Whisper:
First tell me what you have already
seen. What do you know now?
Echo:
Reveal
Hunter:
I.. I know, that both bliss and
agony.. do not exist... that or there is some horrid being making
a false imitation in it in the minds of both mine and my brother.
A being strong enough to steal us from god himself. This is what I
hope, no pray for, anything, anything but what I fear to be the
truth, that, that this god of mine... may not be what i think,
hope, and been taught that he was
Whisper:
Is it hope you really want, child?
Whisper:
Do you want to hope this dream will
end?
Echo:
Slumber?
Hunter:
I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT ANYMORE!!!
I... I just wish that THing had never turned out this way. I wish
I could just be back with my family, still praying to that
omnipotent god of ours. But I can't go back now, it is impossible
for me. I have come this far, so I may as well learn the truth
Hunter:
I want to wake up to the truth of this
matter
Earth Looker:
Brother?
Hunter:
Earth looker, you're, YOU'RE AWAKE!!!
Oh thank go... just, I am so glad you are awake
Earth Looker:
I called out to you many times before,
but you never answered... Why?
Hunter:
Because I was also blind brother, I
was stuck in a dream as we are, but we are free now brother, we
are free. I wish, I truly do wish that I could have saved you
sooner, but I could not, but, now we are out of that hellish place
brother, we are free!
Earth Looker:
I am so sorry, brother, I am sorry I
ever stole your kill. For everything
Echo:
Awakend...
Hunter:
DOnt worry about that now brother, I
have long since forgiven you, you are my brother. You are someone
truly, truly precous to me.
Hunter:
Did, did you beings heal my brother?
DId you wake him from that nghtmare?
Whisper:
Yes. Your god's power is weaker here,
and he may be set free.
Whisper:
You awakening was a special gift of
the wishmaster.
Earth Looker:
The who?
Hunter:
I was justthinking the same thing
Whisper:
She is our master, our savior.
Echo:
selfless
Hunter:
Wait, could it be that this wishmaster
is the woman who gave me that bracelet that peased God in place of
the beast that had already escaped the ruins I was searching
Wishmaster:
Indeed
Wishmaster:
Good to see you two up. Did you sleep
well?
Hunter:
I'd rather have not slept at all if I
had know that my sleep would cause me to be nothing but a empty
minded shell living in a fake happiness
Wishmaster:
Just as they all are. And those who do
not yet see bliss are mere cattle, supporting their god to that
end.
Wishmaster:
Do you see now why I could not have
told you this? Why you had to be shown the madness?
Echo:
Awakened...
Hunter:
Yes, i can see, for this is something
I would never had believed. Me, my people, have all been taught
that god is an ultimate, all seeing, loving being, who wished for
naught but the happiness of our community, yet, yet this is not
what I had experienced, it is true that he was always with us, he
talked to us and intereacted with us seemingly every day. Yet, I
can not call him kind anymore, he is ruthless. I was blinded by my
own faith for so long. I... I have done horrible things. Those
pups never deserved thier fate, nor did thier parents or I imagine
many of the other creatures I have slain on my quests. I have done
so many horrid things for him. But now I can atleast see those
atrosities for what they are. Now I can see the evil nature of the
one who had led me to perform them. To be honest, its a bit
exhillarating
Wishmaster:
In time, it will call for you. The
link to your former master will never be severed. Be ready.
Hunter:
...I know, I know . To be honest, even
with what I know now, a part of me still calls for that god, still
demands and believes that he loves me. But I must resist it. I
cannot fall back into that kind of blind foolishness. I cannot
lead myself and my brother back there.
Whisper:
Fear not. You are saved now.
Wishmaster:
You have a choice, you two. If you
wish, you may live on here for the rest of your time. This is not
the bliss you were promised, but it is still a place of life.
There is no deise or monsters, and this moss can sustain you
forever. You will live easy.
Wishmaster:
Or, you can come with me, and aid me
in my quest.
Hunter:
I will aid you, I cannot just live
here and do nothing with what I know, but, brother, what are you
going to do. I, do not mean to insult you, but I am not sure how
you will do out there, I am sure you would learn fast if you came
with us, but, I am more than a bit worried. Maybe you should stay
here, I do not wish to see you die, not after I had just talked to
you for the first time in what seems like ages
Hunter:
I hope i do not insult you brother.
Earth Looker:
No. I was already damned once for
being greedy and cowardly, and as horrible as that god was, I
deserved that. This time, I will be at your side.
Earth Looker:
Besides, I'm not that bad with a blade.
Hunter:
Thank you brother. It will be good
having you by my side, especailly after the way we have behaved
with one another for so long
Echo:
Aww.....
Whisper:
Shut up
Echo:
Silence...
Wishmaster:
Then it is settled. Our first order of
buisness is to return you two to the real world. Are you ready?
Hunter:
Yes
Earth Looker:
Wait, what about the others? And those
still in Wrieph?
Wishmaster:
They are beyond my ability to reach...
Hunter:
Brother, even if we tell them what we
have seen, even if they see it for themselves, they still will
just call our words lies, I still question it a bit myself, and i
have gone through it.
Wishmaster:
This one speaks with great wisdom.
What is your name?
Hunter:
Hunter
Wishmaster:
Then grab my hand, hunter, and we
shall return to the world you came from.
Hunter:
Lets go
DM:
Whisper and Echo disolve into worms
again, and crawl onto the wishmaster.
thePeople:
wait guess i dont have to control hom
anymore
DM:
na, he is kind of your cohort now
Hunter:
Before we go, can you just tell me,
what were those things?
Hunter:
Uh, yes, Im quite curious about it
Wishmaster:
They are other beings whom I saved,
many centuries ago.
DM:
are you in a different map now? I
think I used a command that changed your view
thePeople:
just delayed i guess
DM:
No, I used the wrong one
thePeople:
ah, so, should i speak, or is
wishmaster about to monologue
DM:
assume the "DM is typing" will appear
if I am reserving monolouge space
Hunter:
If you don't mind me asking, where
exactly are we now, and as I wll likely have no idea where even f
you name it, can you also say why and what is here
Wishmaster:
You are in a small cavern, out in the
wastes. The name of the region is useless to us.
Wishmaster:
I plan to rescue more lost souls here,
with your aid.
Hunter:
Very well, then let us go, how far are
they from here, and are they under the trall of the same "god" we
were
Wishmaster:
No. They are a diffent race, entralled
by different plights, but it matters not.
Wishmaster:
They too must be awakened, albeit in a
different way.
Hunter:
I will help as I can, lead the way
Wishmaster:
The time is not yet upon us for this.
You see, you will not be aiding me with a sword. You will instead
show these people yourselves, and they will see the wonders I
provide.
Wishmaster:
They will come to trust me.
Hunter:
Very well, how do we go about doing
this
Wishmaster:
A meeting will occur here. I have sent
Whisper and echo to the people telling them that miricales will be
shown to them here tomorrow night.
Wishmaster:
There you will appear before them,
saved and glorious. You will tell them that they must go to a
place known as fort highpeak to be safe. There they will not be
harmed by their plights.
Wishmaster:
Then and there they will be safe.
Wishmaster:
Then you will lead them there. Wisper
and Echo will guide you there.
Hunter:
I will do my best. But, and i do not
man to be rude by saying this. It seems you will be playing this
role of a saver as a god, now, I can see why thi might be best,
people rarely trust just other people when they wield mysterious
powers unless they see them as something above themselves, but, if
you do plan to play that role, how long do you intend to play it
beofe you tell them the truth. This is of course if that is your
intention, I do not mean to accuse you of anything, I am just a
bit... sensitive about the idea of a person miracles causing new
blind followers, people who do not know the truth, even if the one
they follow is good.
Wishmaster:
What makes you belive I am lieing to
them?
Hunter:
Im sorry, It just is, with all of your
talk of miracles, I'm afraid it might lead them to believe you to
be some kind of god. Im sorry that I was confused at what you
meant.
DM:
make a sense motive check
* thePeople rolls: d20+1 => 2 + 1 = 3
Wishmaster:
That will not be an issue. You will
notice some food in the corner, that should last you untill
tomorrow night. Try to rest, you have been through much.
Hunter:
Well brother, it seems like tommorow
will be interesting
Earth Looker:
You can say that again...
DM:
do you do anything before then?
Hunter:
While sh likely put us in a safe
location, this is the wastes, maybe we should sleep in shifts, you
first and then myself while you guard
Earth Looker:
I'll try. I... I don't know if I will
be able to sleep without nightmares though.
Earth Looker:
I'm just glad you never experianced
agony, Hunter.
Hunter:
As am Ibrother,as am I, dont worry
thought, one day, we will make sure that the one who put you
through that, you and so many others, suffers the fate he
deserves. For tonight however, remember, I will be sitting here,
guarding you, so feel safe, and i promise if you start screaming
or anything I'll wake you up at once.
Earth Looker:
Ok.
DM:
He sleeps as he has not done for some
time.
DM:
Unless you do anything prior to the
next night, this is session.
Hunter:
not really. In that case, good night
brian
